A Few Updates On What I'm Working On
Moving to Texas, writing another book, and a few other projects
I wanted to write with a quick update on what I’m working on in this season of transition. Our family is in the process of moving from Nashville to Fort Worth, a not-so-easy task with four children. Our plan is to put our house on the market here soon. My wife has been busy putting final touches to get it ready to show while I’ve been flying back and forth to Texas. Our plan is to land in Fort Worth in June after the kids finish out the school year. It’s bittersweet. We love Nashville but are so thrilled to be moving to Texas.
I’m loving Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College so much. This is the first time I’ve worked in an academic environment and I quite enjoy it. The staff and faculty have been overwhelmingly welcoming.
I am working right now on The Land Center for Cultural Engagement. I’m putting together a team and we are working on branding and website and thinking through programming and content and academic initiatives. We’ve got some really great things in store, so stay tuned. I can hardly wait until we are able to announce everything.
I’ve also got a few projects in various stages of completion. This calendar year I have three projects releasing:
The Characters of Creation from Moody will drop the first week of June.
Spiritual Gifts, a Bible study from Lifeway will release this summer.
The Biggest Best Light is a children’s book co-written with my friend Briana Stensrud that will release this fall.
All of those projects are finished. I also just finished up a video project with the North American Mission Board based on my book, A Way With Words.
Right now I’m currently writing a book on Christian unity for Zondervan. This one has been on my mind and heart for a while. That will release in June of 2023.
I’m also continuing to write for World. My latest is a column on the plight of Afghan refugees and why the U.S. should continue to keep our promises to them. I’m enjoying this work so much. And I’ve started a show on the new platform Callin, where I interview guests about what’s going on in the world and other things.
For the time being, I pressed pause on my podcast, The Way Home, but I plan to reprise it soon as part of what we are doing at The Land Center.
Wow. You’re such a prolific writer! I’m praying for your family as you make this transition. Looking forward to what is to come. 🙏🏽
