Christians In an Internet Age: A Conversation with Tim Challies
He was an early pioneer in digital publishing. Now he looks back at the promise and peril of Christians online
I jokingly tell people that Tim Challies invented the Christian internet. But Tim was one of the very first people to embrace blogging (remember that?) and has had fresh content every single day for almost two decades. I’ve always appreciated the quality content on Challies, helpful theological resources, book reviews, and Bible study resources. Challies was a go-to resource for me in the early days of ministry, helping me think through difficult issues. I’m thankful for Tim and his contributions to the body of Christ.
Tim is also the author of important books, including The Next Story which was an early look at a topic many of us are wrestling with all the time: how to think about the shape and influence of the digital age on our spiritual lives and on the church. He has also written some really helpful books on productivity, discernment and other topics. Lately Tim has been engaged in projects that help to visually understand theology and the Scriptures, including an innovative idea, Visual Theology and a tour of famous places in church history, Epic.
His latest work is Knowing and Enjoying God.
Tim stopped by my podcast and shared his thoughts on the church in a digital age and why he feels it is his calling to help Christians visualize and understand theology. Give a listen here:
