C.S. Lewis and the Questions that Lead to Faith
Randy Newman once doubted the Christian faith and found in Lewis a pathway to Christianity. Now he uses Lewis' model to help others on their journey
I first met Randy Newman many years ago when I heard him speak at a writing conference near Chicago. I was captivated by his own story of coming to the Christian faith from Judaism. Since his conversion over four decades ago, Newman has been urging others to believe in Christ and doing it in a way that promotes dialogue and asks questions. His book, Questioning Evangelism was a gamechanger for me, along with Tim Keller’s book, A Reason for God in helping me see that evangelism, talking about Christianity, can begin by being curious about what someone believes, asking them questions they’ve probably never considered about the foundations of their own worldview.
I had Newman on the podcast recently to discuss his latest book, Mere Evangelism. Here he walks thru the questions C.S. Lewis asked and discusses what he’s learned from Lewis about talking about Christianity.
Randy talks with me about his journey to faith, about some of the myths we have about apologetics, and why being bad at evangelism has actually helped him be successful at provoking conversations about faith. Listen in your favorite podcast app, on my website or right here:
