Dobbs, Roe, and SCOTUS
A conversation with policy expert Chelsea Sobolik on this summer's potentially momentous ruling
This summer, the Supreme Court will hand likely hand down a decision on the future of abortion in America. Court watchers are split on how they think the conservative majority court will rule, but many feel they will either uphold the abortion laws in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health in a narrow ruling or perhaps may issue a more expansive ruling that effectively overturns Roe v. Wade.
The pro-life movement has been working toward this for almost 50 years, since that fateful day in January 1973 when Roe came down. And yet if the Court issues a ruling in favor of the unborn, it marks not the end of our work, but just the beginning. This is why I asked my friend and former colleague Chelsea Sobolik to join me to discuss the impending SCOTUS ruling and what is next. Chelsea is the director of policy at ERLC and has been working hard on life issues for many years.
