The Influences That Formed Tim Keller
An interview with the author of a brand new biography on the bestselling author and New York pastor
One of my spiritual heroes is Pastor Tim Keller, whose book, A Reason for God, among others, has helped shape the way I think about apologetics and evangelism, etc. Keller is the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, founder of Redeemer City to City, co-founder of The Gospel Coalition, and bestselling author of several books.
Keller has retired from the pastorate and is currently recovering from treatment for cancer. He’s lived a full, rich life of ministry and service, and now my friend Collin Hansen has a brand new book on the influences in his life, Timothy Keller: His Spiritual and Intellectual Formation.
This is a fascinating interview on Keller’s early influences: R.C. Sproul, Francis Schaeffer, Elizabeth Elliot, John Gernstern, Ed Clown, and some other surprising ones. We also talk about Keller’s formative years as a pastor in a small church in Virginia.
I won’t give away all of it. Go listen to the podcast here or wherever you get podcasts.
